The Treasure Valley Historical Railroad Society is dedicated to the preservation, restoration, operation, and maintenance, of railroad equipment and infrastructure, as well as education and interpretation of railroad history in the Treasure Valley.
Treasure Valley Historical Railroad Society’s vision begins with preserving local railroad history as well as the rich agriculture and tourism market and providing the public with unique railroading experiences in the Treasure Valley. Our vision includes building strong community partnerships with the towns and commodity groups in the area which would benefit from increased tourism and economic development in the Treasure Valley. Establish educational programs that promote interest in, awareness of, and appreciation for the importance of railroads in Idaho’s and specifically the Treasure Valley’s history.
Accurately preserve, restore, and display railroad artifacts in an engaging and appropriate environment,
Cosmetically restore locomotive Union Pacific Railroad #616 to a historically accurate appearance with the intention of potential return to operation.
Participate with local, city, county, state, and national organizations to build and promote economic development, historical preservation and advancement of history, and tourism.
